James Johnson, Co-Vice President

James ‘JJ’ Johnson is married to Shirley Mercier Johnson and is the father of James Johnson III and Tomara Johnson Thompson (Deceased). He is grandfather to Rian Rose Thompson and father-in-law to Derrick Thompson. JJ holds an MBA from Texas Southern University, bachelor’s in accounting from University of Houston
and an Associate in Arts from San Antonio Jr. College.


Since 1991, JJ has been a Partner with J & J Johnson Accounting and Income Tax Partnership, Owner of JJohnson & Son Video Productions since 1985, and he retired from Shell Oil Company after 20yrs. JJ is also a professional Play Clock Operator, has worked 2 Super Bowls and 8 playoff games. He also worked as on field official for Southwest Athletic Conference, Texas Association Sports Officials and as a Referee for 30 years. JJ is the first black from the Houston Chapter to work a State Championship Game and he is the first minority elected to a Chapter Board Position and also served as Financial Committee Chair for 2 State Conventions.

JJ has served on numerous boards within his community and helped launch the audio/video ministry at his home church, The Fort Bend Church. JJ is a proud descendant of James Wilson.
