The eleventh Hiram and James Wilson Family Reunion will be held this summer in Seguin, Texas on June 23rd, 24th, and 25th. Like other family reunions, Wilson family members who haven't seen one another in a while have a chance to fellowship over a weekend. However, our reunions are different from others because the Capote Cemetery, Capote Church, Capote pottery site, the Wilson Pottery Museum, and the shear size of our family provide an opportunity to experience tangibles that define our roots. These are things that make us so unique.

The reunion will feature a slate of activities that will kick off with play time for the younger family members at the ZDT Amusement Park in Seguin on Reunion Friday. Registration packets will be available for pickup at the park. Reunion Saturday kicks off with the Sunrise Ceremony at the Capote Cemetery. The main registration packet pickup will be at the Coliseum Saturday morning. With the exception of the State of the Family meeting and the Wilson Pottery Museum tours, all other activities and events will be held at the Coliseum. Touch or click  Forms for reunion details and for access to the reunion registration form, the ZDT Youth Day registration form, and the T-Shirt order form. Download and print the form(s) that you are required to submit prior to the reunion date. Mail them with your fees to the addresses provided.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to research, acquire, and preserve that part of Texas History made by the Wilson potters during the 19th Century. This includes, but is not limited to, the acquisition and restoration of the historic pottery sites, collecting Wilson pottery and artifacts, as well as the pottery of contemporary Texas potters, and displaying all for the enjoyment and enlightenment of all Texans, tourists, and school children.

Current Objectives

The Wilson Pottery Museum allows us to share the rich heritage of the Wilson Family. Thus, we continue to seek the funding necessary to enhance the museum contents and improve its ability to flourish.
We want to strengthen the bond among family members to create a greater awareness of our family legacy. Our goal is to encourage separate family groups to establish a centralized organization so that strategic planning such as fund raising can be better accomplished.  The Foundation hopes to manage the backfill soil erosion problem at the Capote pottery site.
